When was the last time Superman had a successful live-action movie? I think it was in 1983 with Superman III, but even that is debatable. Well, its been 30 years, but we finally get another film fit for the last son of Krypton!
Thankfully this film felt nothing like director Zack Snyder's last film; Sucker Punch. And again, thankfully this felt like no other Superman film that had been prior. Everything felt fairly fresh, and this film was a nice take on the Superman franchise.
Now, I've always been somewhat of a comic book fan, and I used to prefer my comic book movies to be 'comic book style'. I had mixed feelings towards Nolan's Batman series, I loved them, but wasn't sure how I felt about calling them a comic book movie. I have since decided that DC can keep their dark and gritty versions of the movies, because they work amazing. I love that Marvel's movies are light-hearted and fun, but at the same time; I love knowing that if I go into a DC movie, I can start expecting superb storylines from them.
So I guess what I'm trying to say, because I don't really want to spoil anything from this movie, is that you should watch it. I've heard some complaints about it being slow in beginning, but it's all well worth it.
