So many things come to mind when talking about World War Z. For one: These zombies are fucking terrifying. Any attempt to deny this fact is purely a lie. Two: Yes, this movie is very different from the book, but this isn't a book review; it's a movie review.
I will state that I feel the changes they made for this movie are warranted, and work perfectly. World War Z is thrilling when it needs to be and surprisingly funny when it wants to be. Pitt made his character a bad-ass which was a treat to watch, but at the same time slightly annoying.
Overall the film was good. Worthy of the 'World War Z' name? Maybe not, but the movie itself was good. I would recommend it.
