Being John Malkovich (1999) [Movie Review]

I cannot count the number of times I have seen Being John Malkovich. Many times after I have viewed the film, I will sit at my laptop staring blankly wondering what I could write about? There is so much to discuss within this film that I can never think of what to bring up. For the sake of getting this film reviewed for my challenge of 1,001 Movies, I am today forcing myself to write about the film.

There is no aspect of this film that I don't think deserves recognition. The actors are all top notch. Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman have crafted a near-perfect piece of cinema. This is the most creative love story I have ever witnessed, I have doubts as to whether I will ever witness any romance as creative as the one portrayed in Being John Malkovich.

The film is smart, clever, and creative. Truthfully, any positive adjective you can think of will suit this film perfectly. If you have not yet, please see this movie.

Rating: 9/10
