Sex Tape (2014) [Movie Review]

Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz team up in the raunchy comedy about a couple attempting to spice up their sex life with a sex tape, and then accidentally sending that sex tape to their close friends and family. Now, I mention "raunchy" in an almost ironic sense, because despite being entirely about sex, the film finds itself in the awkward middle-ground between adult film and family film.

Jason Segel, Cameron Diaz, Rob Corddry, Rob Lowe, Ellie Kemper - all of these actors and actresses are great. The last three names mentioned still gave a pretty goo performance in this film, though I believe that may be due to their limited screen time. However, Segel and Diaz were quite bland in this film. This is by far Jason Sege's worst role to date, his lines were bland, came with poor execution, and were ultimately unconvincing.

All-in-all, Sex Tape offered a premise that, while unrealistic, could have been funny. But this film goes for the cheap jokes and offers nothing else. I would not recommend this movie, it is a waste of both time and money.

Rating: 4/10
