Hercules (2014) [Movie Review]

Earlier in the year, we were graced with the release of a film based on the Greek demi-god Hercules. That film was terrible. But now, we have been given another Hercules film, this time directed by the one and only Brett Ratner (X-Men 3).

I will say that this iteration is scores better than the previously released film. However, not surprisingly, Brett Ratner has made yet another lackluster film. If nothing else, this film succeeds at being a little more interesting than a few other Hercules films. One of the main themes of this film was the 'legend of Hercules'. Is Hercules truly the son of Zues? Or he nothing more than a strong man with exaggerated stories? That part of the film was interesting. The rest of the film was nothing more than a slew of generic action sequences and laughable dialogue.

I can't say I would recommend this film. But if you are bored, it isn't a terrible way to spend 90 minutes.

Rating: 5/10
