Another 48 Hrs. (1990) [Movie Review]

That's right, the boys are back in town. Set a few years later, Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) is still an unconventional cop and Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) is still a convict who is almost out of the slammer. For the past four years Jack has been tracking down the 'Iceman', who he believes is the major drug dealer in the city. While in pursuit of a man he believes is the guy he's after go bad, he has Another 48 Hrs. to clear his name of manslaughter charges, or he'll end up taking Hammond's place in the slammer.

In almost every sense this film feels exactly like the first. The exception being the first one was actually fun to watch, whereas this one... was not. The formula is the exact same, but the suspension of disbelief is strongly needed for this one. The acting talents of Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte are truly the films only redeeming quality. I would recommend skipping this movie, but I do still wholeheartedly recommend the original.
