Mulan II (2004) [Movie Review]

We've all seen Disney's Mulan. And seriously, if you haven't - watch it - it's currently on Netlfix Instant. And since Mulan was so successful, a direct-to-DVD sequel was also made! Yay!

Since we've gone over the fact that everyone has seen Mulan, we all remember that song 'A Girl Worth Fighting For' right? Well here it is if your forgot. It was probably the second best song of the movie. Well anyway, that is the theme for Mulan II! Mulan and Shang as to be wed, and the Emperor gives them the task of escorting his three daughters to be part of an arranged marriage that will also be part of a peace treaty. To help with the job, the three main men from the first movie come to the rescue! Wait... three men and three women... I wonder...

This movie had a lot to live up to, and it was quite obvious that it would not reach the perfection of the first. But having the same characters come back was nice, and the Yin/Yang relationship of Mulan and Shang was surprisingly nice to watch. I can't give this movie a full recommendation, but if you liked the first, you might like this one.

Rating: 6/10
