Turbo (2013) [Movie Review]

He's fast, they're furious.

Wait, this is a movie about a snail racing cars? Seriously?

Yes, I know the premise of the movie sounds downright awful, and even after it's explained it still makes little sense, but once we get passed that minor detail, Turbo is actually a really fun movie.

I'll keep this review pretty short; Dreamworks spared no expense on voice talent. Almost every voice in this movie had a familiar sound to it. This both helps and hurts the movie, as no voice actor adjusts there voice for the movie. Any adult watching the movie will recognize the voices and picture the actor, not the character. Of course, this is but a small complaint.

The themes of this movie are surprisingly powerful for a children's movie about racing snails. Live life to the fullest, never let someone else tell you what you can/can't do, love your brother(s).

It's because of all of the surprisingly deep meanings in this film that I rate it so high, and recommend it to anyone who has time to kill.

Rating: 8/10
