Jersey Boys (2014) [Movie Review]

Franky Valli is a musician whose voice, I believe, has been heard by everyone at some point in their life. His music group made the quintessential hits of 1960's radio, more or less defining the decade in terms of music. Some people may not know his name, but when "Sherry" comes on, I think everyone can sing right along.

So, Jersey Boys shows the rise to fame of Franky Valli and the Four Seasons. Being based off of a stage play, the biggest concern was whether or not the obvious stage play bits would feel awkward or fit right in. And I'll have to say that, in most cases, they fit perfectly. Especially when the credits started rolling, the entire cast came out to do one last dance number, and it felt so much like a play. Clint Eastwood did a great job bringing Jersey Boys to the big screen.

It was disappointing that the film followed a fairly generic formula. It was almost as if I were psychic while watching this film, basically knowing what would happen next. But the amazing soundtrack made up for that, and generally this movie was pretty fun.
