Sparks (2013) [Movie Review]

I have noticed something these past few months about the difference between the two retail giants Target and Wal-Mart. Target tends to have a large variety of independent films always in stock, whereas Wal-Mart tends to keep more B-movies in stock. While these two terms mean essentially the same thing, can anyone guess which movies are better to watch?

A couple weeks ago I found an interesting movie sitting on the Wal-Mart shelf. I had never heard of this film, but it's cover featured a band of costumed crusaders. I know you aren't supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but I bought the movie just the same. I never expected quality from it, but I was hoping for something that was at least sort of fun to watch.

It is rare that I end a movie wishing that I had never even begun it. But such is the case with this flick. First off, I need to make a statement to all filmmakers. Don't try to one-up your own damn budget! If you know full well that you can't afford to make an effect look good, don't do that effect! And certainly don't continue to do that effect. Your job is to conceal how small your budget is by excelling at every other aspect in your film. I am disappointed to say that no aspect of this film excelled in any way. Actually, I will give credit to the film having an interesting premise, but literally every other aspect of this film was painful to watch.

I will not sit here and rant about every aspect that is poor with this film. I can not think of many redeeming qualities. I want anyone reading this to know that Sparks is not worth paying money for. Hell, I don't even think it's worth wasting time on. Tread with caution, you have been warned.
