The Fault in Our Stars (2014) [Movie Review]

If I wasn't convinced of Shailene Woodley's acting talent before, I sure am now. Woodley plays teenage cancer patient Hazel Grace Lancaster, in her cancer support group she meets, and slowly falls in love with, Augustus Waters, played by Ansel Elgort.

Going into this movie, it is assumed that the movie will be a sad one. And that assumption is definitely correct. Anyone who is faint of heart will have a hard time watching this film. And, as with most other cancer films, this could potentially hit hard if you have ever known someone with cancer.

But for anyone who is willing to fight through the near-inevitable tears, you will be rewarded with quite a wonderful film. Though it follows a fairly average plot structure, it's writing and interesting characters make up for it.

I refuse to say much else about this film, as I think every person should experience it first hand. Anyone who watches this should enjoy it, though maybe not instantly.
