Oh. For those of you who don't know what Osage County is about, the most apt description is "a gathering of the dysfunctional family." After the death of the alcoholic Beverly, the father of three and husband to the unbearable pill-popper Violet, the family gathers for a funeral. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Violet and Beverly are not the only members in this family with problems. While some characters attempt to mend a broken relationship, others look to starting a new relationship with, quite possibly, the wrong person. Very few personalities in this family work well together thus resulting in a countless number of disputes.
To say this film is amazing would also be an accurate description. While little is done to resolve any of the problems in the family, it was an enjoyable experience watching the family struggle. Wow, that sounds bad. That should have read something like this; it takes a special kind of writer to make a person laugh while simultaneously making them sad. And this movie does just that. The movie was comedic heartache and I loved every minute of it.
This movie is definitely not for everyone. It is, as I said, primarily arguments. But this movie is definitely for me.
