Lone Survivor is a true story based on the US Navy SEAL operation, Operation Red Wings. The mission did not end the way it was initially planned, leaving only one survivor (hence the film's title).
Having the film open to footage of actual Navy SEALs training footage was a brilliant touch, and a perfect way to start it out. It then goes on to mix comedy, tragedy and bro-mance in ways that could also be considered perfect! Lone Survivor was the first film in years in which I was constantly cringing in pain because of the realism it portrayed.
This was a devastatingly amazing film that deserves your attention. Watch it if you get a chance.
