Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2013) [Movie Review]

There is not much to say about the newest installment of the Jack Ryan series. It is another attempt to reboot the franchise, and who knows, maybe it will work this time!

And while it has potential to sell tickets, a lot of potential actually. It doesn't have a lot of competition at most theaters right now, and action movies can really make good sales. Unfortunately, the movie itself is not of the highest quality. I have to give Chris Pine a compliment on his wonderful display of his first kill. The trauma he showed almost felt real! But other than that one minor detail, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is nothing more than an action movie. It is completely predictable and has sub-par writing. It's really about you would expect from a January release, I guess.

The movie isn't boring, but it is far from perfect. It's not a bad popcorn flick.
