Rio (2011) [Movie Review]

In wake of it's sequel just hitting theaters this past week, which I will be watching in the coming few days, I have decided to sit down and watch Rio.

Now that I've seen the movie, I can definitely see that I wasn't missing very much. While the story was a charming one, it was quite cliched. Unfortunately, this is the case for many children's movies, so it came as no surprise to me.

The original songs for this film were superb. Real in Rio is background music on the menu screen for the DVD, I listened to it a good five times before starting the movie because it was such a nice song. All of the other songs in this movie were also great, but that particular obviously stands out the most.

So, while the movie is extremely predictable and featured a few nonsensical scenes, Rio is a decent animated movie. If you have time to watch it, it's not a terrible movie. But it's definitely not the greatest.
