300 (2006) [Movie Review]

A movie based on a comic book, based on history. You will find countless people complaining the *300* series' historical inaccuracies, but we're going to put those aside, because they don't matter.

Despite being very inaccurate to history, *300* is still a great teaching tool. It shows general information on the Spartan soldiers, while also entertainingly giving a nice introduction to the Battle of Thermopylae.

The performances in *300* are over-the-top and amazing. It never tries to be a sappy story, it aims to please the action crowd, and it does what it sets out to do.

It's sequel was recently release, so if you plan to see that, I would suggest watching the first film first. The sequel does a nice job re-telling story, but the original is still amazing to watch.
