Tommy Boy (1995) [Movie Review]

I'm not quite sure what I can say about Tommy Boy. It is definitely a fun movie to watch. But "fun" and "good" are two completely different words.

After the death of his father, college graduate Tommy, played by comedian Chris Farley, is forced to take over his fathers company. Tommy passed with a solid D+, so it is clear to see the company is in for an interesting change of pace. Tommy sets out on the road to sell the company's latest product, but if he fails, the company will be sold. On the trip with Tommy is his fathers right-hand man, Richard, played by the ever-hilarious David Spade.

Though the film itself is very funny and was one of the most quotable movies of the year, Tommy Boy's problems lie in it's tired plot structure. But it's easy to look past that, and simply enjoy the laughs that will come from the film. I'd recommend this movie to any fan of comedy.

Rating: 7/10
