Top Gun (1986) [Movie Review]

Tom Cruise is on a highway to the danger zone in one of his greatest performances as "Maverick" in the Oscar winning 'Top Gun'. The film has a beautiful opening and wastes little time getting to the action. After a thrilling run-in with the enemy, Maverick's wingman takes hangs up his wings, and Maverick is sent to Top Gun, a place for the elite to become even more elite. There Maverick meets a nice girl and works his way through his classes, leading up to a somewhat cliché ending.

Top Gun features stellar performances from every castmember. Not something I would usually say about Val Kilmer, but he played his role perfectly. The emotions in this film could almost be felt. And though you may have to suspend disbelief for Cruise's character, Top Gun is a great film. A must-see for any lover of cinema.
