An American Werewolf in London (1981) [Movie Review]

An American Werewolf in London follows the story of David Kessler and Jack Goodman, both American, traveling through England. After being thrown out of a pub, they are attacked by a werewolf; Jack is killed, and David is wounded. Being wounded by a werewolf is definitely worse than being killed. Jack, who is forced to walk the earth until the last werewolf has died, confronts David; informing him that he is a werewolf, and will kill people unless he commits suicide. David simply thinks he is going crazy. Obviously more happens, but you'll have to watch it to see, it's on both Netflix Instant and Amazon Prime.

This film was really good; everything in it seemed realistic, other than the werewolves obviously. Other than the realism, they did a really good job with the make-up work of Jack, who continually haunts David throughout the movie. Overall, this is a rather good film, with a pretty good cast, a very well-written script, and some really good special effects, for 1981.

Rating: 8/10

Discussion topic: In the hospital, David is told by Jack that he is a werewolf, and that he must kill himself before the next full moon, otherwise he will start killing other people. What would you do? Would you kill yourself? How would you react?
