The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Nic Cage stars as Will Gerard, a high school teacher in New Orleans. His wife, Laura Gerard, played by January Jones, is raped and beat, making Will mad, to say the least. In the hospital, Will is approached by Simon, played by Guy Pearce, offering him justice for his wife. All Will is told is that if he accepts, he will be contacted later, with a "favor." Will instantly turns the deal down, but after seeing his wife again, accepts Simon's proposition.
The rapist is killed by the secret organization, making it look like an accident, and proof is given to Will, along with a necklace that was stolen from Laura. A few days later, Laura is released from the hospital, but is rather paranoid, and rightfully so. They change locks, and work on updating the rest of their home's security. Six months pass, and Will receives a phone call from a mysterious party, Simon, with information on how he can pay his debts.
Will must go to a zoo, and tail a woman and her children, if certain man shows up, he is to call Simon and say the phrase "The hungry rabbit jumps." The man does not show, so Will leaves. Will is then informed that the man he was looking for is a child pornographer. His next task is to kill this man.
Will obviously refuses, but then the secret organization proves their power by breaking into Will's house several times. Scared for his wife's safety, Will decides he'll do it. After all, it's just some sex offender.
After killing the sex offender, he is contacted by the police. Turns out the man was actually a journalist, working on a story about the secret organization that Simon runs. The two cops interrogating him leave the room, and another cop comes in. Asking him three questions: "After Monday comes ____", "My favorite color is ____", and "The hungry rabbit _____." After answer "jumps" to the final question, Will is given a "Visitor" badge, removed from his handcuffs, and given instructions on how to get away.
Will still gets into trouble with the law for a while, but is eventually found innocent, after the surveillance footage turns up with Will just defending himself.
The film ends with Will going to talk to someone about the fact that they have only "scratched the surface" on this organization. The man walks away, heads up an escalator, and stares to Will as he rides up. "The hungry rabbit jumps," says the man.
Seeking Justice is a great film. Cage's acting is great, as usual. There were some major flaws with the film, regarding realism, but it is, after all, just a movie. The film's ending makes for a great twist, showing once again how large the organization is.
