Treasure Planet (2002) [Movie Review]

Treasure Planet is a futuristic take on the classic novel Treasure Island. Jim Hawkens, voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is a troubled teenager. Not having a father around when he was growing up, he makes poor decisions, and gets in trouble with the law; all while his mother tries to run a business largely by herself. Well, one day while Jim is sitting on the roof of his mothers bar, a ship crashes. Being the nice man Jim is, he rushes to help. The dying man gives Jim a sphere with turns out to be a map to the Treasure Planet that Jimmy obsessed over in his childhood.

This film is great, as are almost all Disney films. Although this film didn't seem to follow the same formula as the rest of the Disney movies, it really made for an enjoyable experience.

Rating: 6/10
