48 Hrs. (1982) [Movie Review]

The buddy-cop genre of film may be a tired genre by now, but in 1982 they had rarely been heard of. 48 Hrs. is one of, if not the, first "buddy-cop" movie that was successful, and it started a big trend. It may have gotten old really fast, but you can't deny that they were fun while they lasted.

If you're watching this film for the first time in 2013, you will most definitely find yourself hating many aspects of it. After all, it's just another buddy-cop movie. The action is beyond cheesy, and the gunfights are laughable. But again, in the '80s, it obviously worked. So, what I'm saying is that; yes, this film has flaws, and it's from a genre that has since been overdone. But with it's initial release, it was a great movie, and for that I recommend it.

Rating: 8/10
