At first I thought a movie called "Epic" could be nothing but good. Then I saw a poster and thought it looked terrible. Then I saw a trailer, and was actually somewhat interested. Then I saw the movie...
And I don't really know what to say. This movie was definitely creative, there is no denying that. But it's another kids' movie that fails to have any real message, and so many things happen that are just too convenient to actually happen.
Epic was a fun film to watch, however. It was visually great, and surprisingly funny. The talents of Chris O'Dowd and Aziz did not go to waste. Not that those two were the only comedy in this film, they were just the most prominent.
Unfortunately, due to the poor writing of this film, I cannot recommend this film. Nothing really out-of-the-ordinary here, just another kids movie.
