The gritty sequel to the gritty reboot of one of the biggest franchises in history. Star Trek Into Darkness had a lot of hype built up, yet somehow it was better than the trailers made it out to be. That's talent right there.
This film has an intense opening, and doesn't slow down until the very end. You will find yourself on the edge of your seat for the majority of this film. And what's better: It's set-up in a way that you understand almost all of the film without the need to watch the other(s)! You are continually given important information throughout the film, but it's given in a way that doesn't feel awkward or forced, it seems as if these characters would actually the things they do. The action was grand. Explosions, guns, super powered people, all great stuff. And some deep messages that are masked by the action, but on the drive home will have you thinking.
The acting was superb. Everyone owned their character. An all-around fun film, highly recommended if you like sci-fi.
