Poolhall Junkies is the story of a pool hustler that never wanted to become a hustler, but instead had dreams of becoming pro. His name is Johnny, and is played by Mars Callahan. After many years of being bossed around by Joe (Chazz Palminteri) he decides enough is enough, and put's Joe in a tough spot as he backs out. He gets a "real" but quickly realizes that he just isn't cut out for that, and begins playing pool again. Eventually meeting some old friends along the way.
Pool may be the most boring sport to watch on film, yet somehow this film was enjoyable, possibly due to it's short run-time. But being entertaining doesn't necessarily mean it's a good film. The film suffers from a fairly stale plot and simply decent acting. Nothing great about this film, just okay on all counts.
But watching some of those trick shots were pretty cool.
