John Wayne plays Hondo Lane, a dispatch rider for the army. He stumbles upon a home in hostile Apache territory, where he becomes a guardian, of sorts, for a woman and her son.
Growing up, I watched Westerns all of the time with my family. But as I aged, my interest in them waned. I saw John Wayne's Hondo show up on my recommended section of Netflix, and noticed it was only available until March 1st. I figured this would be the perfect time to see if I still like Westerns. Short answer, yes. Not as much as other genres, but still great.
Anyway, Hondo was a great film. You could tell it was made in the '50s, but looking past that, everything was done great. It seemed to accurately portray the Native American people. It even made them seem as though they were the good guys, almost. So, if you like Westerns, you'll probably like this film. If you don't, you probably won't.
