If Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) wants to be with the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), he will have to fight her 7 evil exes. Along the way his band and roommate help him through what he needs to get through.
I'm fairly certain this was a comic series prior to the release of the film, but I have not read them, so I can't comment on the accuracy to the source material. I can, however, comment on how amazing this film was. Yes, it was another of Michael Cera's awkward guy gets the girl movies, but this one was different, and actually funny. The cinematography in this film is phenomenal. Even from the get-go, you know you will be in for a treat. But when the fights begin, they truly show their powers in editing and choreography. Of course, being a fan of video games, everything video game related was great fun, and the film progressed more and more things became video game related. The acting was great by everyone, but Kieran Culkin (who played Scott's gay roommate) definately wins the prize for best actor/character here. By far the funniest, I found myself laughing in every scene he was in, and arguably the one who helped Scott the most. Overall, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a very good movie. I won't say this is for everyone, but if you like video games, I would highly recommend this film.
