The Quiet Earth (1985) [Movie Review]

The Quiet Earth is science fiction film based on the 1981 book of the same name. The premise is that out main character, Zac Hobson (Bruno Lawrence) awakes to find that he is only person on Earth. After some searching, he finds that he isn't the only person alive! A nice woman, Joanne (Alison Routledge), meets him and they begin to look for more survivors. Eventually, they find one more survivor, Api (Peter Smith), and shortly after discover what happened to the world, and what they must do.

Overall, this was an interesting film, but nothing truly special. It was an interesting concept as to how they survived Armageddon, but other than that, there was nothing special about the movie. The films ending leaves the viewer to decide what actually happened, which is both a fun way to end a film, but a lazy way at the same time. At any rate, it was an interesting film, worth checking out if you're bored.

Rating: 7/10
