After the death of their friend, three childhood friends embark on a journey to find the treasure they tracked as kids. This is a comedy, so all of the friends are different in almost every way. You get Dan Mott (Seth Green); the socially awkward doctor that seems to be afraid of everything. Guy number two on our list is Tom Marshall (Dax Shepard); the chronic liar who is always in trouble with the law. And the last guy on our list is Jerry Conlaine (Matthew Lillard); the idiot who can't seem to figure out why his girlfriend is mad at him. You can't have a movie, especially a comedy, without things going wrong, though! While heading down the river, they meet a bear who attacks them, destroy their canoe, and find two rednecks who try to kill them before they reach the end of their journey.
Without a Paddle is very much a mediocre film. The acting was really good, but you can't act your way out of a shitty script. So many things that happened in this movie should not have happened. Completely removing the rednecks from the film would have done it much justice, as they didn't add humor or realism. Overall,
Without a Paddle added nothing special to the genre, but is still entertaining to watch.
