Identity Thief follows a very typical plot outline; a person does something that affects another person's life, the one person finds the other person, go on a road trip, and form an unlikely friendship. The film has a couple big name stars, but none of them huge. You get Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) as Sandy Patterson and Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly) as the lady who steals Sandy's identity.
Over the course of the film we get many laughs. Though most of the laughs are at the expense of Sandy's deformed penis. Almost everything in this film is predictable, you know exactly what is going to happen next and how everything is going to play out. With that being said, the film was also highly unrealistic. Almost nothing in this film would have happened in real life. So, suspend belief for this one, or just avoid it in general. It's funny, but completely forgettable and definitely not a "must-see."
