RED - Retired, Extremely Dangerous. Yep, RED aptly defines Mr. Frank Moses (Bruce Willis). Moses lives a quite life of retirement. Being in love with Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker), the customer service lady at his pension office, he often finds himself tearing up his checks and saying they had never arrived, just so he can speak to her. Then one night, he is greeted with a few guests, but after making short work of them Frank decides it's time for him and Sarah's first date. So Frank picks her up, explains the situation, and gathers the rest of his old gang, uncovering a massive conspiracy on the way.
With the acting talents of Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren, this film was bound to be amazing. You can't go in to this film expecting a realistic masterpiece, but you should be epecting a comic book-style movie. It reminded me of a combination of Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim. Again, simply seeing Bruce Willis do something bad-ass is enough to get my attention, but they go so much further. The characters are almost perfectly developed. The writing is phenomenal; it brilliantly showed the comedic attributes of each actor/actress aswell as their other acting talents. If you haven't yet, I'd highly recommend this film, especially if you're interested in the sequel hitting theaters in August.
