Okay, I'm going to assume you've at least heard of The Wizard of Oz. I'm going to assume you've already seen it, too, but I know there are some people who haven't, so for those I'll leave out the major plot pieces.
Anyway, The Wizard of Oz is about Dorothy (Judy Garland) being carried away, in a tornado, to the wonderful land of Oz. But she wants to get back home to Kansas, so she has to follow the Yellow Brick Road to find the Wizard of Oz (Frank Morgan). While traveling the road, she encounters some friends who look very similar to people she knows in the real world. She first encounters the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), who wants a brain. She then finds the Tin Man (Jack Haley), who wants a heart. And finally she finds the Cowardly Lion (Burt Lahr), who is seeking, well, courage. They all decide to travel to the Wizard together, and have a magical adventure along the way.
This film is a classic, and it's clear to see why. It has a wonderful soundtrack, and the songs perfectly fit into their respected locations. The set pieces are all beautifully done, making for a wonderful land of Oz. The acting is a little over-dramatic, but most acting at the time was like that, so it works out. Overall, The Wizard of Oz is amazing, and if you haven't already, this film is a must-see.
