True Grit (2010) [Movie Review]

After the death of her father, Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) hires a U.S. Marshal to track down his killer. The Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), is a cranky, one-eyed, and possibly crazy old man, but is said to be the best. Also tagging along is LeBoeuf (Matt Damon), a Texas Ranger who also wants to bring in the man who killed Mattie's father, but for different reasons.

This movie was nowhere near as good as I was hoping for. With the acting talents of Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin, I had my hopes set high. A bit too high, it seems. The film as a whole was slow moving, and not very interesting. I would recommend the original film over this remake.

Rating: 6/10
