The toys are back for the sequel to one of the greatest animated films of all time. Due to a mix-up, Woody is sold to a toy collector where he learns about his origin. He must decide whether he wants to stay with his new friends and live in a museum, or go back to Andy, and force his new friends to go back into storage.
I actually enjoyed Toy Story 2 more than the original. I know most people consider the sequel to be bad, but I loved it as a child, and still do to this day! In this one, we don't have to worry about character introductions (well, a few, but not an entire cast) and we can get right to the action. We see how far Woody (and the rest of the gang) will go to save his friends, and we learn what happens to the damaged toys.
In the first film, Buzz Lightyear doesn't know he is a toy. He thinks he is actually the Buzz Lightyear, of Star Command. But in this one, Woody is the one who is confused. He thinks he is just a toy, and doesn't know that he was the star of his very own show. I found that to be a very nice touch.
Anyway, though other people don't like it, I would highly recommend this film.
Rating: 9/10
Discussion topic: If you were a toy, would you rather be put into a museum where you will never be harmed again, but will never be able to have fun again; or be with a human who will play with you for ~10 years, and most likely damage you along the way?
