And we're back into the wonderful world of The Matrix. Well, the Matrix is wonderful, at least. The real world suffers, and Zion faces extermination. Neo (Keanu Reeves), now clearly The One, will do whatever he can to save Zion, but more importantly his girlfriend. I personally have never understood how it's more important to save one person when you can save an entire civilization. Oh well, I guess I'd just make for an uninteresting character. Along the way, Neo learns much more about the Matrix, and has to fight a lot more Agent Smith's.
The problem with this film is that the first Matrix was groundbreaking, it introduced a wonderful world with amazing editing, and all around great film. But this sequel adds barely anything, we learn a little more about the Matrix, from the creator of the Matrix even, but other than that it's nothing more than a cash cow for the franchise. And then it ends with a to-be-continued, for the next film to be released later the same year! At least wait a full year for it, people. Oh well, if you enjoyed the original film, you might like this one, you do learn more about the Matrix and Zion. But if you didn't like the first, then you will probably hate this one.
